Further information about the car:

I recently had some problems with the Airsuspension of the car. At that time I didn't know that the car is still under warranty but found out about it when I brought it to the Audi-dealership. So then I transfered the warranty to my name (costs $ 150) and had the Audi Technician take a very close and exact look at the car. The things he found not to be in a perfect order were:

Airsuspension compressor and valve, catalytic converter, O2-sensor, cutoff valves, divers seals, driver's door power window, upper guide links, radio, radiator

 

All these things were replaced and repaired. Also the steering wheel was replaced because the heating wasn't as warm as it should be (Now touching the steering-wheel feels like sitting in a new car!).

These repairs added up to ~ $ 8,500. Out of that I had to pay $ 188, Audi paid for the rest.

Besides that I had the 60k maintenance service, a wheel balancing and rotating, a wheel alignment a brake flush done and the brakes (front: rotors and pads; rear:pads) replaced. Because of easy access when replacing the radiator the timing-belt has been replaced already as well. So within the last 4-5 months there were repairs worth of ~ $ 10,000 invested into the car. So it is really running great now. Tires have at least 70 - 80 % of tread-profile left and the battery was replaced in November 04.

The car has a clean carfax that is available upon request.

Besides all that you may notice on the pictures that I did put the '05 model's taillights into the car. The middle part that holds the license plate is the US-version, the actual lights are those of the '05 Euro-version.

Hier noch ein paar Zusatzinformationen über meinen Allroad:

Der Wagen hat eine Laufleistung von 65.900 Meilen, was ca. 105.500 km entspricht.

Es gibt hier in den USA eine Institution die sich "Carfax" nennt. Da kann man  im Internet für jedes in USA angemeldete Fahrzeug mithilfe der Fahrgestellnummer (s.o.) alle möglichen Informationen abfragen. In dieser Datenbank werden z.B. Kundendienste, Besitzumschreibungen, Fahrzeugfinanzierungen, Unfälle, Wandlungen etc. jeweils mit Datum und Meilenstand gespeichert und sind dann für jedermann, der eine Gebühr an Carfax (US$ 19.99 - 24.99) entrichtet, einsehbar. Die Website lautet http://www.carfax.com/ . Jederman kann hier also sehr leicht nachprüfen, ob die  zu einem Fahrzeug gemachten Angaben zutreffend sind oder nicht.

Ein paar Info´s zur Garantie:

Grundsätzlich bietet auch Audi in den USA besonders gute Garantien an: So ist jeder Neuwagen mit einer 4-jährigen Garantie ab Erstzulassung ausgestattet. Ausserdem sind auch noch alle Kundendienste in den ersten 4 Jahren im Kaufpreis beinhaltet. Garantie und Kundendienste sind allerdings auf 50.000 Meilen beschränkt. Wird der Audi dann jedoch vor Ablauf dieser 4 Jahre von einem Audi-Händler als Gebrauchtwagen wieder verkauft, so wird er in der Regel genauestens untersucht (über 300-Punkte-Check) und dann als "Audi Assured CPO (Certified Pre-Owned)" zertifiziert. D.h. ausserdem, dass er dann mit einer Audi-Gebrauchtwagen-Garantie für das 5. und 6. Jahr (hier also bis 11/06) ausgestattet ist, bzw. bis zu 100.000 Meilen (160.000 km). Hat er die 100.000 Meilen erreicht bevor er sechs Jahre alt ist, so erlischt die Garantie. Diese Garantie ist etwas umfassender als die GW-Garantie in Deutschland.

Jedenfalls habe ich den Wagen beim Audi-Händler genauestens untersuchen lassen und alles, was nicht in Ordnung gewesen ist, habe ich erneuern bzw. reparieren lassen. Dazu gehörten u.a. Teile der Luftfederung (Kompressor und Ventileinheit), Katalysator, Lambdasonde, Getriebeölwannendichtung, Dichtung am Diffenenzial, Radio, Fensterheber, Querlenker mit Spureinstellung. Das Lenkrad wurde erneuert, weil die Beheizung nicht mehr richtig funktionierte. Ein defekter Thermostat war Ursache eines kurzen Überhitzens, was wiederum einen Haarriss im Kühler verursacht hatte, weshalb auch diese beiden Teile und die Wasserpumpe ausgetauscht wurden. Bei dieser Gelegenheit, und weil ich dann nur die Materialkosten bezahlen musste, habe ich gleich noch den Zahnriemen und die Spannrollen austauschen lassen, so dass das auch schon erledigt ist. Der 60.000er Kundendienst mit Bremsflüssigkeitswechsel, die Bremsen (Scheiben u. Beläge vo., Beläge hi.) gingen ebenfalls auf meine Rechnung. Insgesamt sind so Reparaturen und Wartungsarbeiten im Wert von über US$ 10.000,- im letzten guten halben Jahr in den Wagen geflossen, das meiste davon auf Kosten von Audi.

Weiterhin habe ich die Rückleuchten ausgetauscht gegen die des modifizierten Modells (Mod.jahr 05).
